Rallye International du Valais: the entry period is open
The supplementary regulations of the 53rd Rallye International du Valais, 12th and last round of the FIA European Rally Championship, will be available from Friday 24 August, when the entry period will be open. All the necessary documents will be posted on the official event's website: http://riv.ch. The drivers and teams interested can obtain an ID and password to access the private area of the drivers' section.
The rally will take place from 25-27 October and, in addition to the European Championship, will count towards the Swiss Rally Championship, the Swiss Rally Cup, the Swiss Junior Rally Championship, the Citroën Racing Trophy, the Twingo R1 Swiss Trophy and the Ford Racing Trophy. Of course, amateur drivers are also welcome.
Since the creation of the Rallye International du Valais, its route has evolved while keeping its traditional characteristics. As usual, the 53rd edition will feature a classic but innovative itinerary around Sion, from where the rally will start, and Martigny, where it will finish. The competitors will fight during three busy days in Valais, where the roads seem to have been drawn on purpose to facilitate the selection of special stages. Celles-ci seront au nombre de 16 pour une distance totale de 293 km.

After two well-known special stages, the first racing day, on Thursday afternoon, will draw to an end with the first pass in the famous SS of Les Casernes, just before service in Sion.
On Friday, there will be three stages, both repeated twice. Between the two loops, there will be a regroup and a service halt in Sion and the crews will again gather in the canton's capital for the second round of Les Casernes before heading towards Martigny where the team will have moved in between.
The challenge will rise higher and higher on Saturday with the event's “mammoth” stages in the area of Verbier/Grand Saint Bernard.
At 5:00pm on Saturday 27 October, the winner of the 53rd Rallye International du Valais will climb on the rostrum set up in the enclosure of the CERM in Martigny for the unchanging finish ceremony, followed by the final press conference. It will precede the ritual prize giving and the big night party.
