Rally Bulgaria is a top event with 41 years of history. From 1970 to 2001 the Rally HQ was located in the famous Black Sea resorts – Zlantni Piasatzi and Albena. In 2002 the competition moved its base in the central part of South Bulgaria and now takes place in the picturesque resort Borovetz, located in Rila Mountain.
In 2010 Rally Bulgaria became for a first time a round of the WRC. 43 crews (8 with FIA priority 1) from 14 European countries took part in the event. The 2010 winner of the Rally was the crew Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena with Citroën C4. More than 250 thousands spectators attended this top event.
Traditionally, the Rally has very large media coverage and over 200 journalists from Bulgaria and abroad were accredited for the event. At the same time, it is actively supported both by the State and the local authorities. The competition is sponsored by big national and international companies.

The Headquarters are located in Rila hotel - one of the biggest and most famous hotels in Borovetz. The start / final podiums are situated in front of the hotel. The shakedown will take place on 8 July in the morning and the presentation of crews will be in the evening. The Rally has an itinerary, totaling 1033 km with 12 SS (264 km) all in asphalt. Its route is very compact and selective and it passes trough the beautiful Bulgarian scenery.
The Bulgarian Automobile Sport Federation is the event Organizer with a large support of the local municipalities.
